About Marigold Landscaping

Marigold Landscaping is a growing landscape design, installation, and maintenance company committed to creating beautiful, thoughtful outdoor spaces and providing exceptional care for the clients and landscapes we serve.

We believe great landscaping is about more than completing a task. It requires craftsmanship, attention to detail, communication, stewardship, and pride in the work we leave behind.

We are seeking a dependable, hardworking, and motivated Garden Supervisor + Project Manager to join our team in a part-time capacity, blending hands-on field leadership with project management, estimating, and client communication.

Position Overview

The Garden Supervisor + Project Manager is a part-time leadership position that blends the responsibilities of Marigold's Garden Supervisor and Project Manager roles across a flexible, evenings-and-Saturdays schedule.

On Saturdays, this individual will fill both roles — leading and supervising the field crew, overseeing active job sites, and also coordinating with the Lead Project Manager on proposal development, site estimating, and other project management tasks.

On weekday evenings, this individual will act primarily in a project management capacity — closing down job sites for the day, inspecting completed work for quality, communicating project progress to clients, and coordinating with the Lead Project Manager on proposals and estimates.

The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in a job well done, communicates well with others, and is comfortable both leading a team and working independently.

Previous landscaping, horticultural, construction, estimating, or project management experience is preferred but not required. For the right candidate, Marigold Landscaping is open to providing hands-on training and opportunities for continued professional education.

Primary Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

On Saturdays (Garden Supervisor + Project Manager):

  • Lead and supervise the field crew during Saturday operations.

  • Communicate daily priorities, assignments, and expectations to crew members.

  • Work alongside the crew to complete landscape installation, maintenance, and improvement work as needed.

  • Supervise active project sites for progression, workmanship, site organization, and completion of assigned tasks.

  • Coordinate materials and equipment, and help ensure work is performed according to project plans, scopes of work, and Marigold Landscaping's quality standards.

  • Coordinate with the Lead Project Manager on the development of project proposals.

  • Visit client and project sites to observe existing conditions and gather information for estimating purposes.

  • Complete estimates and proposals for landscape design and installation projects.

  • Coordinate with subcontractors and trade partners working on Marigold projects, as needed.

On Weekday Evenings (Project Manager Focus):

  • Close down active job sites at the end of the day.

  • Inspect completed and in-progress work for quality and adherence to project plans.

  • Communicate project progress and updates to clients.

  • Coordinate with the Lead Project Manager on the development of project proposals.

  • Complete estimates and proposals for landscape design and installation projects.

  • Communicate site observations, measurements, and project details clearly to the Lead Project Manager.

  • Help identify field issues before they become larger project problems and communicate concerns promptly to management.

Across both Saturdays and weekday evenings, this individual will:

  • Maintain organized records of site visits, inspections, estimates, and proposal materials.

  • Represent Marigold Landscaping professionally and courteously when interacting with clients.

  • Support a positive, respectful, efficient, and safety-conscious work environment.

Schedule

This is a part-time position, with a schedule built around weekday evenings and Saturdays as needed.

Typical hours are weekday evenings from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM, with additional hours on Saturdays as needed, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, depending on project and estimating needs.

As described above, the focus of the role shifts somewhat by day — Saturdays combine field supervision with project management and estimating work, while weekday evenings lean more toward project management, site close-down, and client communication.

Because landscaping is an outdoor and seasonally driven industry, candidates should be comfortable with reasonable adjustments to scheduled hours throughout the year.

Compensation

Compensation for this position is $20–$25 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.

This position also includes a car stipend to help reimburse for the use of a personal vehicle for work-related travel, including site visits.

This position does not include paid holidays or paid time off.

Additional employment and payroll details will be discussed during the interview and offer process.

Training & Professional Development

Previous landscaping, horticultural, construction, estimating, or project management experience is preferred, but it is not required for the right candidate.

Marigold Landscaping is open to training a candidate who demonstrates dependability, leadership potential, strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.

Marigold Landscaping may also offer opportunities to support or sponsor continuing education, including approved landscape trade, horticultural, estimating, or project management-related certifications while employed with the company.

Specific professional-development opportunities and eligibility requirements will be discussed during the interview and employment process.

Transportation, Tools & Equipment

Marigold Landscaping will provide the tools and equipment necessary to perform assigned landscape work.

This position includes a car stipend to help reimburse for the use of a personal vehicle for work-related travel, including site visits and travel between job sites.

Candidates must maintain a valid driver's license, appropriate automobile insurance, and a driving record suitable for the responsibilities of the position.

Physical Requirements

Because this position involves both active field supervision and site visits, candidates must be able to safely perform the physical responsibilities associated with landscape work, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Working outdoors for extended periods in varying weather and seasonal temperatures.

  • Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, reaching, and performing repetitive physical tasks.

  • Assisting with planting, pruning, mulching, loading, unloading, and moving landscape materials as needed.

  • Walking active job sites and properties, including uneven terrain, to supervise work and inspect quality.

  • Safely operating common landscape tools and equipment after appropriate training.

Reasonable accommodations will be considered in accordance with applicable law.

Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • Strong dependability and work ethic.

  • Leadership ability and willingness to take responsibility for a crew and job site on Saturdays.

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in quality inspection, estimating, and proposal preparation.

  • Clear, respectful, and professional communication — with crew members, clients, and the Lead Project Manager.

  • Good organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work independently on weekday evenings while also leading a team on Saturdays.

  • Comfort working with estimating tools, spreadsheets, or proposal templates (training provided as needed).

  • Landscape, horticultural, construction, estimating, or project management experience is preferred but not required.

  • A valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and appropriate insurance.

What We're Looking For

We're looking for someone who can move comfortably between two roles: leading a crew and keeping a job site running well on Saturdays, and helping close out the day, check on quality, and keep clients informed on weekday evenings.

This is a great fit for someone who enjoys both the field and the planning side of landscaping, wants meaningful, flexible, part-time work, and is excited to work closely with our Lead Project Manager on projects from start to finish.
